I've been observing player engagement with the bounty feature that was introduced this season, and i believe there's a significant issue affecting its adoption that warrants attention from the staff team.
When the bounty system first launched, there was considerable hesitation from the player base. The initial concern was primarily about security, players worried that having a bounty placed on them would compromise their base locations. This fear made sense from a strategic standpoint. In survival where base secrecy is often crucial to long-term success, the risk of exposure through the bounty system seemed too high for many players. People were understandably cautious about engaging with a mechanic that could potentially reveal their carefully hidden locations to hostile players.
However, as the season has progressed and players have had more time to understand how the system works, I've noticed that the concerns have shifted. The security aspect, while still relevant, is no longer the primary reason players avoid the bounty feature. Instead, the main barrier to engagement has become economic. The current cost of 1000 gold to accept a single bounty is prohibitively expensive for most players.
To put this in perspective, 1000 gold represents a substantial investment that most players would rather allocate toward essential gameplay elements upgrading gear, or saving it for spawn eggs, spawners, purchasing resources, or saving for other critical needs. The cost to benefit ratio simply doesn't make sense for the average player. Even those who might be interested in the bounty hunting aspect of gameplay find themselves deterred by the steep entry price. This has resulted in the feature being largely ignored by the community, despite the potential it has to create engaging player v player interactions & add depth to the server's dynamics.
The consequence of this pricing issue is that what should be an active and exciting feature has become essentially dormant. Players aren't avoiding bounties because they find the concept uninteresting or because they don't see value in the mechanic itself, they're avoiding it purely because the gold requirement creates an unreasonable barrier to entry. This is unfortunate because the bounty system has genuine potential to enhance gameplay, create memorable moments, and encourage more dynamic interactions between players. not to mention when one player finds the coords, they can just share them outside of the game to other players which is inevitable to happen.
I strongly encourage the staff team to reconsider and adjust the gold cost associated with accepting bounties. Even a reduction to 500 gold would likely result in significantly higher engagement rates and would make the feature accessible to a much broader segment of the player base. At the current price point, only the wealthiest players can afford to participate regularly, which limits the feature's impact on overall server dynamics and reduces the return on the development effort that went into creating it.
The bounty system could genuinely add an exciting layer to the server experience, but only if players can reasonably afford to engage with it. I hope this feedback will be taken into consideration for future balance adjustments, as I believe making this change would breathe new life into a feature that currently isn't living up to its potential.
